Editor's Note
As is understood from its surviving inscriptions, the mosque was commissioned as a Friday Mosque in the Hijri year 970 (1562-1563) by the mother of Mehmet Bey, son of Musa Paşa. Rectangular in plan and built of rubble stone, the mosque has a flat wooden ceiling. The ceiling is supported by four wooden posts in two rows. To the north is an open portico (last congregation place) likewise carried by wooden posts. The wooden door leaves of the marble, segmental-arched main portal are worked in the kündekari technique. It is notable for the tiled inscription in sülüs script above the entrance door.
