From an article by Sümeyya Özne in the Bizim Sakarya newspaper dated 10.01.2018: Founded in 1810, that is two centuries ago, the school takes its name from Sabiha Hanım, who served as a teacher and headmistress there and devoted herself to the school until the end of her life. With headmistresses after Sabiha Hanım who were also women (Pembe Hatun and Zil Hatun), the school remains today, thanks to both its educational success and its visibility in social activities, among the most sought-after schools.
