Editor's Note
It is located within the village of Dongelli in the Kandira district of Kocaeli province. It was built by Sultan Orhan in the 14th century using the wooden post-and-beam (cantilever) technique with a hipped roof. Damaged in the 1999 earthquake and then abandoned, the building's roof and walls have largely collapsed. It is understood to have been a rectangular structure with a portico. There are illegal excavation pits in the adjoining burial ground. The building is currently being restored by the Kandira Municipality.
