Saniye Hatun Köprüsü

Near the Mamak Gardens and over the Hatip Creek, a bridge was built by a benefactor named Saniye Hatun (Saniye Kadın). The people came to call this bridge the 'Saniye Kadın Bridge'. For the maintenance and repair of the bridge she had built over the Hatip Creek, Saniye Hatun endowed a sum of money and established a charitable foundation. This endowed money was managed annually by its trustee, and its income was spent on the bridge's upkeep. Whatever remained was given to the Mufti of Ankara.
