Mavi Ağalar Mescidi

Editor's Note

It stood on Yalın Street in the Hacı İvaz neighbourhood (Helvacı neighbourhood) of old Ankara. The site of the mescit today corresponds to the small square formed at the intersection of Ulucanlar Avenue and Can Street. It can be said to be close to the intersection of Ulucanlar Avenue and Enez Street. The Mavi Ağalar Mescit burned down in 1937, its wreckage was sold in 1940, and it was later demolished and its site incorporated into the square (Öney, p. 93; Erdoğan, The Spiritual Geography of Altındağ, p. 197; and Konyalı, p. 72).
