Halil Makaracı recalls that the old Ankara House at No. 95 on Anafartalar Avenue, which still stands in place, was the Independence Tribunal building, and that executions were carried out on gallows set up in front of the Anafartalar Police Station. The same information appears in the book 'İsim İsim Ankara', attributed to Ergir. In his article titled 'The Independence Tribunal Building Lies in Ruins', Mete Karakul notes that this is the place referred to in Kılıç Ali's memoirs, where he wrote, 'Our tribunal had begun its work in a modest three- or four-room building in Ankara.'
