Standing at the eastern end of Posta Avenue, which was opened after the 1929 Tahtakale fire, the building was designed by Robert Oerley in 1937 and subsequently built. From the year it was erected, it has allowed all the people of Ankara to shop cheaply, making Ulus what it is and adding to its liveliness and dynamism; above all, this market hall holds the value of functionality. With its extremely striking linear arrangement and, in 1937, at a time when reinforced-concrete technology was still very new...
