Editor's Note

The building was the first representative of international architecture in Turkey and, for its time, Ankara's first modern-looking architectural example. The Hakimiyet-i Milliye newspaper of 4 July 1927 carried these lines about it: "...The Ministry building has truly become the most modern building in Ankara. It resembles Europe's most recently built, most modern buildings. At the same time, the fact that the building was erected in Yenişehir gives it an added value."
