Editor's Note
This monument stands in the northern part of the Bakanlıklar district, in Güven Park, and is dedicated to the Turkish security forces—that is, the police and the gendarmerie. Surrounded by parkland and pools, it was designed by Clemens Holzmeister and executed by the Austrian Anton Hanak (the front reliefs). After Hanak's sudden death, the sculptor Josef Thorak (the reliefs on the rear face) carried on the work. Goethe-Institut — Security Monument.
