Designed by Ahsen Yapaner, the building was constructed between 1937 and 1939. For ease of transport, one side was connected to the city and the other to the freight rail yard. It was a three-part building, comprising a three-storey tobacco warehouse, a rakı production area on the street side, and a wine workshop, bottle-washing section and storerooms in the basement.
