Editor's Note
Established by the General Directorate of Monopolies and opened on 5 April 1936, the building's operation was first leased to the Ankara Municipality for a small rent and then transferred to it in 1940. The Shooting Range, which—especially with its garden—became one of Ankara residents' favorite spots and enjoyed its heyday, lost its importance after 1950 and is thought to have been demolished during the 1958 widening of Hipodrom Avenue. After its demolition, the site served for a time as a parking area for EGO buses and at one point as a storage yard for ASKİ's water pipes.
