Editor's Note
The building was constructed in 1935 and designed by the architect Clemens Holzmeister. A very large structure, the Military Academy building was designed with a symmetrical approach in both plan and façade. While the building's entrance façade is in keeping with the general character of Holzmeister's architecture, it also carries faint traces of 19th-century architecture. The multipurpose hall and dining hall of equal size on the east and west of the main mass are lower than the main block, creating a stepped progression that culminates in the tower on the central axis.
