It was built in 1804. It is thought that the New Order (Nizam-ı Cedid) Barracks in Ankara was demolished during the deposition of Selim III and the dissolution of the Nizam-ı Cedid army and its barracks. Since Kavalalı Mehmed Ali Paşa could find no barracks to stay in when he arrived in Ankara with his army in 1833, it is believed the barracks had been pulled down by that date.
