Editor's Note
It was one of Ankara's largest Armenian settlements and, in its day, one of the largest producers of mohair (sof). Noted in travel accounts as lying on the historic Silk Road, the settlement was evacuated in the 1930s due to a landslide. It is claimed that Timur gained a tactical advantage over Yıldırım Bayezid by hiding the elephants of his army here.
