Editor's Note
Located within the grounds of the now-vanished Çiftlikönü Surp Haç Armenian Church, the building was constructed at the end of the 19th century as an Armenian school. The school's original name was "Hisusyan." In that period Çiftlikönü was an important Armenian settlement area. The school largely lost its function due to the population decline following the Armenian deportation of 1915.
