Editor's Note
It lies within the boundaries of the Aydoğdu neighbourhood in the Süleymanpaşa district of Tekirdağ province. This is the site where the 19th Division and its 57th Regiment, which would distinguish themselves in the Gallipoli land battles, were formed by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk at Tekirdağ. The barracks on this ground are reported to have belonged to the 3rd Corps under the command of Mahmud Şevket Pasha in 1909, during the Balkan Wars era. It was registered as a Historic Site by the Edirne Regional Directorate for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage by decision no. 9860 dated 20 December 2023.
