Editor's Note
This site lies within the Yağcı quarter of the Süleymanpaşa district in Tekirdağ province. The area holds Ottoman-period headstones, many of which have toppled over or become buried in the soil. Although the date on one partially legible headstone is AH 1301 (?) (AD 1884), the area is thought to contain graves dating further back. The cemetery, which has no settlement nearby and is no longer used for burials, is thought to have belonged to a nearby village that no longer exists. It was registered as a Cultural Property Requiring Protection (Group 2) by decision no. 7451 of the Edirne Regional Directorate for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage, dated 22 March 2021.
