Editor's Note
This site lies within the Güzelköy quarter of the Şarköy district in Tekirdağ province. In this area, which holds headstones belonging to various social classes and professions, some of the headstones have remained buried in the soil while others have been torn out and toppled. The headstones could generally be dated to the period AH 1113–1234 (AD 1701–1818). Motif-decorated and turban-topped headstones are also found at the site. It was registered as an Immovable Cultural Property Requiring Protection (Group 1) by decision no. 4847 of the Edirne Regional Directorate for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage, dated 5 February 2018.
