Editor's Note
This site lies within the bounds of Yukarı Kalamış village in the Şarköy district of Tekirdağ province. The inscription, dated 1872 and apparently once on the fountain built by the Greeks, is no longer in place today. The fountain's body was later enclosed within the walls of a warehouse building put up beside it. It was registered as an Immovable Cultural Property Requiring Protection (Group 1) by decision no. 3659 of the Edirne Regional Directorate for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage, dated 22 November 2016.
