Editor's Note
This site lies within the bounds of Dedecik village in the Süleymanpaşa district of Tekirdağ province. The Ottoman Turkish four-line inscription on the fountain, built of stone and brick, reads: "May the souls of His Holiness… the city's Imam Hasan and Imam Hüseyin be content / The charitable benefactor Çorbacı Oğlu / İbrahim Ağa's good work / Year 1293," indicating that it was built in 1875. One of the troughs of this multi-trough fountain uses a reused sarcophagus lid. Its body was later plastered over and its top covered with a reinforced-concrete section.
