Editor's Note
This site lies within the boundaries of Çavuşköy village in the Malkara district of Tekirdağ province. In an area covered with pebbles, tools worked along one edge have been found. They are dated to the Early Paleolithic period, to the beginning of the Pleistocene, some 1,800,000 years ago. The Ballıtepe Tumulus lies to the east of the site. Registered by council decision no. 954, dated 11 September 1991, the tumulus was updated to a First-Degree Archaeological Conservation Area by decision no. 4045, dated 9 May 2017, of the Edirne Regional Directorate for the Conservation of Cultural Heritage.
