The Bektashi lodge, also known by the name Rüstem Baba, was founded by Rüstem Gazi on the orders of Orhan Bey. Rüstem Baba chose as his settlement the hill called Baba Burnu, which extends toward Saros within the triangle of present-day Mecidiye village, Erikli and Beyköy. The names found in this region today - Baba Burnu, Baba Fountain, Baba Stream, Baba Field, Baba Grove, Baba Mill - are all associated with the Rüstem Baba lodge. Since the dervishes engaged in farming and animal husbandry, the lodge's buildings also included large stables and provision stores.
