Editor's Note
It stands on the beach about 1 km past where the road from the Enez district to the coast turns off toward the Istanbul University camp. Known by the people of Enez as the English Barracks, the building was constructed in the 18th century as a caravanserai. Two stories tall and made up of six separate units, the caravanserai's outer walls survive in places intact up to the roof. Now lying 400 m inland from the shore, the building is set perpendicular to the coast. The caravanserai has a rectangular plan 110 m long and 15 m wide. It is built of rubble stone with Horasan mortar, and the window arches are of brick.
