Editor's Note
The mosque bears no construction inscription, and although its exact date of construction is unknown, it was originally the Paragia-Pazariotissa church before being converted into a mosque during the 1922-23 population exchange, when it took its present name. A minaret was later built on its northeast corner. The mosque sustained moderate damage in the earthquake of 17 August 1999 and was closed to worship for a period.
