Editor's Note
Its construction was begun during the reign of Yıldırım Bayezid (r. 1389–1402), but it was left unfinished when Bursa was occupied by Timur's army after the Battle of Ankara. It is a double bath. The disrobing room of the women's section is covered by a dome set on an octagonal drum 10.50 metres in diameter. The hot room, entered by passing through a warm room covered by a dome 7.00 metres in diameter, has a rectangular plan. From here, a corridor with an iwan on each side leads to the private room (halvet), again covered by a dome. The men's section has the same plan as the women's section.
