Editor's Note
According to the information posted beside the grave, it belongs to Muharrem Ağa, the brother of Anber Ağa, chief treasurer of the Ottoman palace. He died in 1641 and was buried at the spot where his grave now stands. Because a large boxwood tree once grew within the grave, the place came to be known among the people as 'Şimşirli Dede' (the Boxwood Saint).
