Editor's Note
The mosque, located on Mücelleddin Street in the Hacı Seyfettin quarter (formerly the Mücellidi quarter), was built by Kadı Ali Çelebi before the year 1500. Built of plain rubble stone, the mosque was earlier covered with wood and tiles, but in later repairs it was given a dome. It was rebuilt in 1952 (AH 1371). The masjid, which underwent a thorough repair in 1793, previously had no minaret.
