Gazi Timurtaş Paşa was one of the commanders of Murad I, the Anatolian Beylerbeyi under Yıldırım Bayezid, and the vizier and commander of İsa Çelebi; he fell as a martyr at the Battle of Ulubat in 1403 and was buried here.
