Editor's Note
The mosque was built in the late 15th century. Who commissioned it is unknown. With interior dimensions of 7.00 by 7.35 metres, the mosque has a portico (last congregation space) three metres deep. In its main lines it follows a rectangular plan. The portico on the north side, added to the single-domed main prayer hall, is covered by a vault. For a time the mosque passed into private ownership and was used as a storehouse. It was repaired in 1963 and reopened for worship. The piers carrying the arches and the gable wall on the north side have two rows of corbelled (sawtooth) eaves. Above the main walls there is an octagonal drum on the exterior.
