It was opened in 1928 by Hacı Rasim Öztat in the Grand Bazaar. After the market fire, it moved to its present location in 1958. The establishment, which was the first to sell candied chestnuts and marshal cake, entered the Monde Selection competition held in Rome in 1983 with the Turkish delight it produced, winning a Gold Medal there.
