Editor's Note
It was built in the first quarter of the 16th century by Mevlana Mehmet, son of Ömer, son of Hamza, known as "Molla Arap." The real name of "Molla Arap," also known as "Mehmed Molla," was Muhyiddin Mehmet. His grandfather Hamza belonged to a Turkish family from Khorasan. Molla Arap, who took part in the Hungarian campaign during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent (1520-1566), returned to Bursa after the campaign and lived there until his death in 1531, after which he was buried in the cemetery of his mosque. The grave enclosed by iron railings across from the mosque is attributed to Molla Arap.
