Located on the high pasture of Karlıca Village in the central district of Bayburt province, between the Karadağ and Satıahmet hills, the Karlıca Martyrs' Cemetery measures roughly 90 by 40 metres and is enclosed by walls built of rubble stone. Within the cemetery area there are graves, likewise built of rubble stone, with distinct head and foot stones and arranged on an east–west axis. The site's characteristic architectural features and its location suggest that the burials here belong to the 1st.
