The Korgan Bridge (also known locally as the "Melik's Bridge"), at the exit of the village of Akşar (formerly Balahor) in the central district of Bayburt, is a two-arched, pointed-arch stone bridge built over the Korgan Stream on the historic Silk Road route between Bayburt, Gümüşhane and Trabzon. The structure, which uses yellow cut stone in the arches and parapets and rubble stone in the spandrel walls, is carried by a central pier with cutwaters on both façades and is distinguished from the region's other bridges by its arches worked in the toothed masonry technique.
