Editor's Note
Located in the Kılıçarslan neighbourhood of central Niksar, this registered bridge spans the Çanakçı Stream that runs through the town. It is a single-arched, half-round bridge whose pointed arch is built of cut stone while the rest is of rubble masonry. [1] Although its building materials and construction technique date it to the Late Roman–Early Byzantine period, the repairs it has undergone have caused it to lose its original form. [2] While water mills are generally accepted to have first been used in Greece and Italy, B.C.
