The mosque has no inscription giving its patron and exact construction date. According to the text on a plaque written in modern Turkish at the entrance, the building was commissioned by the Dabaklar (Tanners) and underwent repairs in AH 1276 (1856 CE). As a result of the repairs it has gone through, it today retains none of its original features and is a wood-roofed mosque with a nearly square rectangular plan.
