The Pervane Bath is a highly important historic monument in central Tokat, built by the Anatolian Seljuk vizier Muineddin Süleyman Pervane in the 13th century, presumably before 1277. Although it has no inscription giving an exact construction date, this building, which has served continuously for some 750 years and is the oldest bath in the province, has a classic "double bath" plan; that is, it consists of separate sections arranged symmetrically for women and men.
