Editor's Note
In the early 1800s, a blind man would pray and make a wish to regain his sight with a votive candle he lit at every service in the church. After this man washed his face each morning and prayed at this spring for some time, his eyes are said to have opened and his wish to have come true, with the spring water held to be the cause. Word of this spread throughout the area, and it became a sacred spring where people toss coins and pray for their wishes to be fulfilled.
