Editor's Note
While it is understood to have been a large structure such as a medrese or caravanserai, the ceramic, tile and coin samples excavated reinforce the view that it was an important building at Kalehisar. Traces of a wall on the southwestern side of the structure, thought possibly to be a han (inn), have been identified. As the excavation work at parcel 262 of block 112, which intensified in 2021 and is believed to be an inn structure, neared completion, the perimeter of the parcel was enclosed with sturdy concrete-post wire fencing for future protection.
