Editor's Note
The Hubyar Tomb is a sacred structure located in the village of Hubyar, in the Almus district of Tokat province, regarded as one of the important pilgrimage sites of the Anatolian Alevi-Bektashi faith tradition. The tomb is attributed to Hubyar Sultan, who gave the village its name; according to traditional accounts, Hubyar Sultan was a Turkmen spiritual master of the path of Hacı Bektaş Veli who lived in the 16th century. He is believed to have come to the region during the Celali rebellions, to have carried out spiritual teaching there, and to have founded the Hubyar Ocağı (lodge).
