The inscription giving information about the building's construction is now in the Corum Museum. According to the inscription, the mosque was built by Melik Mesud in A.H. 616, A.D. 1219-1220, during the reign of Alaaddin Keykubad I. The Cemilbey Village Mosque is a square-plan Seljuk-period structure that has survived in ruins, located about 1.5 km south of Cemilbey Village in central Corum province, at the foot of a hill.
