The structure lies about 1 km northwest of the cut-stone Roman bridge with three arches that is visible from today's Iznik-Orhangazi highway, roughly 5.50 km from Iznik. It sits on the old bed of the Karasu stream (Pharmutios stream), whose source is at the foot of the Samanli Mountains, along the ancient Iznik-Izmit road. Yalman noted that in the 1950s the Iznik-Cakirca road crossed the Karasu stream bridge.
