Editor's Note
The mosque stands in the center of Ovacik neighborhood in the central district of Cankiri province. Built on a square plan with a hipped roof, it displays the typical features of a classic village mosque. Today it has lost its original function, and the newer mosque to its north is used instead. Although the building has no minaret, the inscription "H. 1319" / A.D. 1901-1902 in Arabic is carved into a stone set in the middle of its north facade.
