Editor's Note
The building, in the Saglik neighborhood of the Sabanozu district, is one of the wooden-columned mosques whose construction became widespread in the Beyliks period, the earliest examples of which we see in the 13th century. The mosque's original prayer hall is laid out lengthwise toward the mihrab and has three naves. The beams running north-south are set perpendicular to the mihrab and are each supported by three wooden columns in two rows. The central nave is higher than the others. In 1977 a second prayer section was added to the portico area. [1] -- 1 Cankiri Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism - Mosques. The structure dates from the late 16th century.
