The tomb stands in an open area southeast of the Cucuk neighborhood of the Akyurt district in Ankara province. Hamdi Sultan is held to be -though not with certainty- the founder of the village of Kargin in Cubuk. His father was Sah Kalender Veli. After settling in Cucuk, he married the daughter of Haci Ali Turabi. During his lifetime he worked in animal husbandry.
