INSCRIPTION: In the upper right corner of the stone niche at the center of the facade is a prose inscription worked in relief on an upright rectangular piece of marble. Measuring 0.30 by 0.23 meters, the Ottoman Turkish inscription is written in eight lines in thuluth script. It reads: Grant forgiveness, O God, to the patron of good works and charitable deeds, the late and forgiven Fatima Hatun, as a guide to charity in paradise... for her soul, a Fatiha... the year 1204.
