Kumyaka, formerly known as Siği, is a small coastal village on the southern shore of the Sea of Marmara, attached to the Mudanya district of Bursa Province, and it contains works from various periods dating back to prehistory. The region is mentioned in the legend of the Argonauts; its name in Late Antiquity was Sygi, which over time came to be used as Siği. Taxiarchis Church stands on the rocky ground on the western side of Kumyaka village, about fifty metres from the sea. The building contains inscriptions from different periods.
