Editor's Note
According to the marble inscription over its door, it was built in 1715. With its wooden ceiling, the building is an example of a domeless mosque and belongs to the masjid-mosque type. Ömer Bey Mosque has a square plan and a single minaret, which dates from the time it was built. It has a wooden minbar and a mihrab with classical ornamentation.
