Editor's Note
The coastline of Myrleia/Apameia has been completely destroyed by modern construction. For this reason, our surveys along the shore found no remains belonging to the ancient harbour. Perrot and his colleagues, who visited Mudanya in the 1860s, are the only source providing information about Myrleia's ancient harbour and breakwaters. Although they gave a number, unfortunately they did not provide a description. The area where Perrot mentioned breakwaters today coincides with the reclaimed land where the fish restaurants now stand.
