Editor's Note
An elegant single-span bridge stands in the middle of the Bursa-Mudanya asphalt road, one kilometer west of the village of Gecit. It was built by the governor of Bursa, Nazif Pasha, in AH 1303 (AD 1886), and two facing marble inscriptions were placed at its center, one of them a couplet composed by Nazif Pasha himself. The stones are now in the museum (measuring 120 x 80).
