Editor's Note
Edincik Ulu Mosque is a grand mosque in the town of Edincik, in the Bandirma district of Balikesir. According to its inscription it was built in AH 784 by Ildutan Bin Abdullah. In 1888 its prayer-hall walls were extended by the local master Nuri Usta, giving the mosque its present form, and a fountain (sadirvan) was added in 1900. Its courtyard cemetery contains old cypress and olive trees along with graves from the Ottoman period.
